A bit of coldLogic

… because I received my first blogger preview pack ever! Excuse me while I do a very silly dance around my pc. *does happy dance*

Okay, I’m back. Sorry about that…

So what is coldLogic? Well, in case you haven’t heard, it’s a new store that will be opening it’s doors on February 1st. It’s a combined effort by Damien Fate, Janie Marlowe and Zyrra Falcone. And it will be bringing us mesh-based designs. All the clothes use the Standard Sizing and, while it of course depends on the shape you use, the items I got fitted me pretty well.

To avoid a really picture-heavy post, I’m just going to show you my personal favourite for now: the Cohen jumper in moss. The belt is part of the outfit and is also mesh. This outfit really made me long for a nice spring day.

Patina

… week 5 of the 52 Weeks of Color Challenge part II.

This week’s color is patina, which is apparently a word to describe a sheen on wooden furniture produced by age, wear, and polishing. Sounds to me like a fancy word for ancient dirt. But I’m of course no furniture expert. Patina can also describe a green/grey tarnish that forms on the surface of bronze and similar metals, produced by oxidation. Which obviously brings us to this week’s color.

I found this a difficult color to find, and I didn’t quite hit the mark with this dress, but it’s close enough. I combined it with a jewellery set by Sweet Leonard that I bought ages ago, but completely forgot about.

I also got myself a pair of G Field‘s new rigged-mesh boots. They are available in lots of colors, but my wallet made me buy only the black ones (for now). Luckily they come with a HUD to change the color of the laces and trim, so they are easy to match to different outfits. Even to a patina one.

I’m back

… my pc is up and running again.

Well, at least I got  Second Life and the Gimp installed again, so I could make this picture.

The dress I’m wearing is by coldLogic. This store is not open yet, but will be soon. Until then you can get this dress, in three colors, for free in their Subscribo. And you can use it to enter their photocontest until January 30th. The dress is mesh though. So if you are not using a mesh-enabled viewer, you won’t be seeing much of it.

Iron

… week 4 of the 52 Weeks of Color Challenge part II.

I couple of months ago I wrote about the pain of having to do a complete re-install of my computer. Well… I’m about to do it again. Not because I tripped over the electrical cord again. Even I am not that clumsy. But because for some reason my e-mail is completely messed up, and I have no idea why.

Everything worked mine last night. But when I tried to read my e-mail this morning… forget it. Every time I try, the program tries to start but then it just gets slower and slower… and slooower… until the whole thing gets stuck and I have to reboot. I tried to re-install the e-mail program. Tried to restore Windows to an earlier state (or something like that… I’m not exactly good at this stuff, but I stumbled across the feature and thought it might be a good thing to try). I even got my poor husband to try to fix it. (He is good at this stuff, but has very little patience).

So before the poor guy went completely insane and tried to eat the desk or something, I made a back-up of the most important stuff and will just re-install the whole thing. I hate doing that, especially because everything else is working fine. But jumping through hoops to get to my e-mail from now on, seems pretty stupid as well.

So basically, if this blog is quiet for a while, I will still be installing…

Electric Indigo

… week 3 of the 52 Weeks of Color Challenge part II!

Usually whenever there is an “electric” color week, it’s time for me to panic. I’m just not a big fan of very bright colors. Electric Indigo however turned out not to be so bad. Not that I had a lot of items to choose from, but I’ve had this outfit ready to go, since part one of the challenge. And since the right kind of purple never came about, I had it easy this week.

Well… the choosing of the outfit was easy. Taking a picture however…

Second Life has been putting black lines on my snapshots for a while (which was already a pain to photoshop), but now it also randomly makes part of my shadows disappear. And that I really can’t convincingly edit. Toning down the resolution and fiddling with the shot helps a bit. But as a whole, taking pictures has become a rather frustrating exercise.

I’ve tried the Firestorm and Exodus viewers, but they give me the same problems. Does anyone have some idea of what I could try next? I’m open to suggestions.

… week 2 of the 52 Weeks of Color Challenge part II!

Not sure how it’s possible, but I had forgotten how difficult the color challenge can be. Tons of stuff in the old inventory, but nothing in the right color. It really defies all logic. In the end I did what I’ve been doing all along.

Pick something, squint a bit and say: Yeah that’s exactly it!

… week 17 of the Alphabet Challenge.

The challenge has reached the letter I had been dreading from the very beginning… Q. I only had a few things that started with q, so I did a bit of cheating with this one.

My skin is by LAQ, which has a q in it, but doesn’t start with it. And my feet… well, they don’t even have a q in it. But because I had no shoes to wear with this outfit, I thought I would at least go barefoot in style. The feet are Slink’s rigged mesh feet and I love them. The movement of them is very realistic. And especially while dancing, they are a joy to look at.
