It’s an LOTD

… because I thought my outfit looked good enough to share.

lotd 28-11-2011

At the moment, I have two blogger-challenges I should be making pictures for. But no matter what I do, they just refuse to come together. It’s just one of those days I guess. So after looking at the outfit I’ve been running around in recently, I figured that was good enough to share. So a Look Of The Day-post it is.

This look is, as always actually, a mix of old and new items. The two new items are the dress and the belt. Both are mesh items, so the usual compatible-viewer-warning applies. The dress has been all over the feeds recently and is the group-gift by Celoe. The belt is by Ingenue and was last Friday’s FLF-item. Both of these items fitted me very well without having to tweak my shape. That made me a very happy neko.

Oh, almost forgot: the pose is by STaTUS and is part of this week’s Moody Monday offering.

L

… week 12 of the Alphabet Challenge.

L

And L is for Love, what else could it be? Love also happens to be very fitting for this week’s outfit. Because I just love it! (Yes, I thought about that for a long time…)

I bought the outfit at the Vintage Fair, but I’ve been fawning over it ever since it came out. That it fitted this week’s letter finally gave me an excuse to buy it. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go and fawn over it a little longer…

Leg warmer Love

… because I love me some new leg warmers.

Leg warmer Love

Winter is fast approaching, so it’s time to bring out my favourite SL accessory: leg warmers. I already had quite a selection of them in my inventory, but all of them are basically made to go with flat shoes or boots. So when G-Field released leg warmers specifically made for high heeled shoes, I immediately fell in love.

Leg warmer Love 2

These cute knitted leg warmers come in 12 colours and have 3 different heel shapes: basic, straight and chuncky. They come in 4 basic sizes but are also modifiable. And, if all else fails, they also come with alpha layers. So they should fit pretty much everyone.

I’m wearing them here with shoes from other brands (Nardcotix,Kookie and Deco to be precise) So it’s not just G-Field shoes that fit these leg warmers. Though they will obviously fit as well.

  • Hair – Magika (sabina.gully)
  • Skin – Tres Blah (julliette.westerburg)
  • Eyes – Poetic Colors (lano.ling)
  • Neko Ears – OTCR (anisa.naumova)

  • Dress – Fishy Strawberry (fae.eriksen)
  • Tights – Jane (janie.marlowe)
  • Scarf – Miel (miel.nirvana)
  • Jewellery – League (nena.janus)
  • Leg warmers – G-Field (cerberus.noel)

Abandoned

…week 10 of the SL Weekly Words Challenge.

Abandoned

This blogger challenge has been on hiatus for a while, but it is back now. So onwards and upwards! This week’s word was abandoned, but seems to have changed now into abandon. I’m going to stick with abandoned because that was what I had in mind when I made the picture. And the difference is not that huge anyway.

For abandoned I went with a situation faced by far too many cats (and many other pets for that matter): being abandoned by their owners. The reasons are many: because the pet is no longer a cute baby pet, because the owners are going on holiday or the pet doesn’t match the new couch.

I love my RL pet cat and can’t imagine kicking him out onto the street. If I really wouldn’t be able to care for him for some reason, I would bring him to an animal shelter. It would still break my heart, but at least he would have a chance at a new home. So how some people are able to simply abandon their family pet, is really beyond me.

But anyway (this has turned into a much longer post then I thought) here is my take on abandon(ed).

K

… week 11 of the Alphabet Challenge.

K

This blogger challenge is becoming more and more an exercise in digging old stuff out of my inventory. I’m seriously expecting to discover some dinosaur remains soon…

Anyway, the Alphabet Challenge struggle continues. I was unable to match my skin to this week’s letter. It’s the first week that has happened, but probably not the last. I like to follow the rules of this challenge as much as possible, but I don’t like buying random skins just to match a letter. Call me Dutch… but skins are just too expensive for that!

I only buy skins that I really like, that I know I will be wearing often. My skins folder is actually pretty small. Well… compared to my hair folder anyway…

  • Hair – Clawtooth (bubbles.clawtooth) – Kiss Kiss – Coffee w/Cream
  • Make-up – Kyoot (saeya.nyanda) – Autumn Feline – Wine Berry
  • Dress – Kitsune Couture (niennra.kitsune) – Sweet Girl Dress – Red

  • Jewelry – Kunstkammer (nuala.shippe) – Blackheart Necklace

Rainbows for Luna

… a thank you post for Luna Jubilee.

Rainbows for Luna

Kaelyn Alecto came up with the idea to do one more post for the 52 Weeks of Color Challenge: a rainbow outfit to thank Luna for creating the color challenge. I thought it was a great idea. So I put on as many colors as I could and created this, slightly crazy, but very happy look.

Thank you Luna for being our color-guide this past year. And also a big thank you for doing it all again next year!

Noob Style

… for the Newbie Style Challenge II.

The rules for this challenge are quite simple: dress an avatar for less then L$550, with items obtained between November 4th and December 31st. I really liked that idea. So I blew the dust of my alt and went shopping!

Noob Style

I decided to only use freebies, dollarbies and (if the group was free to join) group-gifts. In total I spend about L$35, but didn’t end up using everything I bought. I also decided to buy a shape. Yes, you can of course make a shape yourself. But making a good shape isn’t easy. And, in my opinion, not something my “newbie” should be attempting on her first day inworld.

There are two places that are very good for newbies to visit. The Free Dove and Free*style. Both offer a nice selection of items to get a new player started, like a basic AO. Say goodbye to the newbie waddle!
