… week 41 of the 52 Weeks of Color Challenge part II.

And this week, I’m not wearing anything at all.

I blame Rudhmellowen Laguna! Because she dared me to go naked for this week’s color. And well… I just can’t resist a challenge.

So instead of putting together an outfit, I put together a kind of “feral neko” look. I felt this called for a spotted neko skin (I thought about going for stripes, but Rudh insisted spots were better. Probably a good thing too. After all, horizontal stripes make you look fat.)

I also added some whiskers. Before I started to blog regularly, I wore those all the time. But then I started to leave them out of my pictures, because they just don’t photograph very well. But for this special clothing-deprived look, I dug into my inventory and pulled out some whiskers! Uhm wait, perhaps I should rephrase that…

… week 7 of the Alphabet Challenge.

And G is for gorgeous. Which is the perfect word for this dress in my opinion. It’s not really the kind of thing I usually wear while wandering the grid. But I have to admit I was still wearing this outfit loooong after I took the pictures for this post. Gardening while wearing a gown? A perfectly normal thing to do, right?

And yes, this post is a week late. That’s because I had some computer problems this week. Basically I tripped over the electrical cord while my computer was starting up and I pulled the plug right out of the electric socket. End result: my computer suddenly couldn’t find half of it’s hardware components. *facepalm* So I ended up doing a complete re-install.

I have to say, my computer runs really fast now… you know… with nothing on it… *sigh*

It’s D time

…week 4 of the Alphabet Challenge.

Yet another mix of old and new items. I had prepared this look about a week in advance, but ended up posting it a day later then planned. The reason? One of my KittyCats was missing!

I know it’s completely silly to worry about a virtual pixel cat, but I still felt pretty bad when I logged in and he was nowhere to be found. Not on my parcel, not on the neighbours parcel, not on my HUD and not in my inventory.

I didn’t immediately go to customer support, because I kind of thought it was just me. Recognise this scenario? You can’t find something, but as soon as you ask for help, it immediately turns up? Right under your nose preferably?

So anyway, in the end I did ask for help and filled in a support ticket on the Kittycats website. Luckily their customer support turned out to be very good and before I knew it my missing cat was dropped back in my virtual arms. And yes the return of that bunch of pixels made this SL cat-lady very happy.

Right and Wrong

…week 7 of the SL Weekly Words Challenge.

I immediately had an idea what I wanted to do for “right and wrong”: create a look with a devil/demon and an angelic side. What I wasn’t so sure of, was if I could actually execute my idea. But I thought it would make a nice challenge for my editing skills and who knows, I might actully learn something from it.

It was a big challenge, but I got there in the end. I’ve put my before and after pictures in Luna Jubilee’s SL: Before & After group on Flickr, for those who are interested. (Please note the weird lines SL put on my original shots. Is anyone else having that problem as well?)

I’m still not totally happy with the end result, but I’m sure I can’t do any better with the skills I have right now. I see more tutorials and practising in my future… And now a double style credits list:

After A comes B!

…week 2 of the Alphabet Challenge. 

I know it hasn’t been a week since I posted week 1 of this challenge. But now I’m all caught up, so from now on I will be posting on time. Promise.

Looking at last week’s credits list I realised I hadn’t listed my neko ears and -tail. To be honest I didn’t even think to match them to the letter A. The reason? I’m always a neko avatar, I NEVER detach my feline bodyparts. It would be like changing my shape. And with the arrival of mesh it has become very clear that, THAT is a very touchy subject for many.

So basically what i’m saying is, my furry feline parts don’t do this challenge… The rest of me does though!

Saying goodbye to Grixdale

…because Grixdale will be closing its doors soon.

It is a sad thing to hear about a store closing, but it is understandible. The creator behind a brand changes and evolves over the years, so it makes sense that their activities within SL change as well. Luckily for SL as a whole, Grixdale’s owner Tyr Rozenblum won’t be leaving us. She will instead now focus on her other store Aura.

I have to admit that I haven’t been a Grixdale costumer for very long yet. I only discovered the store a couple of months back, when it was rebranding from its old name Tyranny Designs. I liked the store so, to be kept up to date, I did the logical thing and joined the VIP-group. Unfortunately I had to learn through the feeds that Grixdale was closing. Because SL managed to swallow all three (I repeat THREE) notices that were send about this. Makes me wonder what other important things I may have missed…

But anyway, on to the practical information: Grixdale will officially close its doors on August 31, 2011.  Untill then all items in the shop will be priced at 100L or less. The Aura VIP-group will be free to join untill August 10.

Melon

…week 39 of Luna Jubilee’s 52 Weeks of Color Challenge.
It’s the summer holiday for me in RL (you could mistake it for the autumn holiday, with all the rain, but nevermind that!) And I haven’t been home much. So this week I took it a bit easy.

It was a bit tricky to find the right color in my inventory, and I didn’t get it quite right, but as soon as I found this skirt I was done. Because I have worn this particular ensemble many times before already.

The only new thing is my hair, which is a group gift by Dura. It comes both in black and strawberry blonde.
