I should be renaming this blog to “The Lazy Blogger”! But let’s ignore the layer of dust covering this blog and move on to more interesting things.

While I’m not interested in blogging, and trying to keep up, with what is the latest and greatest in Second Life these days, I do still like dressing up my pixel-doll. So here is the next instalment of that Disneybound Challenge I started ages ago.

Well, actually I’m just an ordinary neko doing a Halloween blog-post. It’s that time of year again after all.

I spend a lot of time on this picture. Not so much on the outfit, because that came together pretty quickly. But I had a lot of fun playing with my windlight settings. I really should be using that SL sky more often.

It’s Bandana Day

… so remove your hair to show you care!

It’s the last day of Hair Fair 2012. So that means today is Bandana Day. The day when the people who have purchased bandanas from Hair Fair, will ‘Remove their hair to show they care’.

For me it was easy to decide what bandana to wear this year. A KittyCatS bandana with kitty ears on it? Yes, please!

As always all proceeds from the bandanas is donated to Wigs for Kids.

I’ve been trying to visit the One Voice Fundraiser. But so far without any luck, since the sim is pretty much overrun. Which in a way is a good thing, because that means lots of money is finding its way to Gala Phoenix’ legal fund!

Astronaut Blue

… week 28 of the 52 Weeks of Color Challenge part II.

There is one dilemma I’m always faced with when I go SL shopping and I find something I’d like to buy: what color should I choose?

The outfit I’m wearing today was one of those. I liked it when it was first released, but just couldn’t make my mind up about the color. And buying all of them wasn’t an option (Afterall, I have a herd of KittyCatS to feed).

So I decided to wait until one of the colors could be used for the color challenge. Et voilá 🙂

Digits Revisited

… for Strawberry Singh’s “What’s Your Digits – Take 2”

Last year, Strawberry Singh asked people to share their digits, to see how her shape compared to others. Now, with the introduction of mesh and the Standard Sizing system, she figured it was time for Take 2. Since I participated last year, I decided to do so again.

This time though, Berry prepared some questions for us to answer in our posts:

• How has the introduction of mesh affected your SL, if at all? Are you open to wearing mesh often or do you still shy away from it?

I personally love mesh. And to be honest I haven’t bought a lot of system clothes since the first mesh garments appeared. Especially system clothes+sculpties are off the shopping list. The same for longer prim hairstyles.

• Have you changed your shape to fit into mesh? If so, did you go bigger or smaller?

Yes, I added a little bit of fat to my shape. But otherwise I didn’t change much. I usually wear M size. But it isn’t a perfect fit, I do very much need the alpha layers.

• Do you think the mesh deformer will resolve a lot of the issues people seem to have with mesh and will it encourage you to wear mesh more often, if you don’t already?

I haven’t looked very closely at the technical capabilities of the mesh deformer. I hope it will improve the way rigged mesh works. But if it’s going to be the answer to all our prayers remains to be seen. SL wouldn’t be SL if we didn’t have to work around it’s technical limitations.

So what changes did I make to my shape in the past year? Not much, as it turned out. Quite soon after posting my first set of digits, I felt that my torso was a bit too long. So I changed that number from 60 to 55. The only change I made as a direct response to mesh, was increase my Body fat slider from 0 to 8, to make Standard Size M fit a little bit better.

Apparently my digits were already more or less Standard Sized 🙂

Cadmium Red

This week’s color is Cadmium Red. When I read that my first thought was: Oh yeah, red paint. And because both my parents are chemists, me second thought was: highly poisonous.

It’s a good thing we only have to wear the pixel version of this color 🙂

An early fri.day

… with some cute tank tops.

It had been a bit quiet around the fri.day store. The main reason for this was fri.day-creator Darling Monday taking some take off to learn how to create mesh. Time well spend if you ask me, because the tops that have been released recently are just perfect.

I think we all know the feeling, whenever we try on some new mesh clothes: is it going to fit and is going to be rigged well? In this case: yes and yes. I was especially pleased with how it moved with my av. Because despite my, admittedly, very active AO, the straps never cut into my shoulders or anything like that.

That said, fri.day will continue to make system clothes as well. So if, unlike me, you’re not a big fan of mesh, fri.day will still be an interesting store for you.

I’m also going to be trying something new in this post, by adding some detail pictures. I always try to keep my pictures as clean as possible, to give an honest representation of what I’m wearing. But with only one picture, some detail is obviously lost. Especially when it comes to jewellery.

So this time I’m also adding a picture of my necklace and ring. And of the cute little bows on the spaghetti straps of the top. Now are those cute or what?

Rust

… week 26 of the 52 Weeks of Color Challenge part II.

This week’s color is called Rust and, unsurprisingly, it’s a kind of orange/brown kind of color. Not exactly the kind of color that made me think of a gown, but somehow that’s how my look ended up.

I bought this dress at the “Fairy Tales in 2012” event. Knowing that pretty much everyone seems to be in love with the items for sale there, I suspect I might not be the only one wearing this particular gown this week…

Unmellow Yellow

… week 25 of the 52 Weeks of Color Challenge part II.

I did some serious inventory cleaning this week. I even sorted all my stuff on color. (without going insane!) But that still didn’t result in any unmellow yellow outfit options. Apparently I’m really not a fan of yellow.

So I did some “sorting” of my group notices and went with this dress by coldLogic. It also gave me an excuse to buy myself another set of jewellery by Maxi Gossamer. I’d seriously love to buy every piece of jewellery at her store. But because of limited funds, I’ll just have to collect them slowly. One set at a time.
