Ghost White

… week 43 of the 52 Weeks of Color Challenge part II.

My first impulse when I saw this week’s color was to throw a white sheet over my head and say “Boo”. I’m sure I wasn’t alone in this!

I decided not to go with the obvious though. So I assembled a more conventional look, using mostly stuff I got at the Cinema event. Actually I used most of the stuff I bought there. I know everyone has been completely in love the event, but well… I guess I’m just not much of a movie lover. Really, when I’m watching a quiz-show and the topic is movies, that’s usually my cue to go and make a cup of tea. I’m totally clueless!

I haven’t been very active lately blog-wise. Between having a cold and sore throat AND a toddler suffering from the same thing, my blogging energy was at a pretty low level… More luck next week!

Hunter Green and Amaranth

… week 39 and 40 of the 52 Weeks of Color Challenge part II.

After all my computer problems and frustrations (read the previous post/rant for the details), it is now time for a big catch up-post. First up is Hunter Green!

I really struggled with this color. Nothing I owned was quite the correct shade of green. In the end I settled for this kind of grey/greenish sweater. Actually, every time I look at it, it seems to turn more grey and less green.

Oh well, moving on to Amaranth.

Weird color actually. If I stared at the color swatch for too long, it just seemed to morph from pink to red and back again, right before my eyes. Reminded me a lot of Folly, too.Which is why I re-used the shoes I bought for that color. (I know, baaad color blogger!)

Anyway, hopefully my pc will continue to behave itself next week. And I’ll be back on schedule again from now on.

This week’s color is called Wales. I thought that was a country, but then again , what do I know? In any case, it’s a nice and bright shade of green.

The dress I’m wearing was last Friday’s FLF offer by Miel. I actually forgot to buy it that day. But luckily for me, they were late with putting up the vendors, so they decided to leave them up the entire weekend. I was saved!

Unmellow Yellow

… week 25 of the 52 Weeks of Color Challenge part II.

I did some serious inventory cleaning this week. I even sorted all my stuff on color. (without going insane!) But that still didn’t result in any unmellow yellow outfit options. Apparently I’m really not a fan of yellow.

So I did some “sorting” of my group notices and went with this dress by coldLogic. It also gave me an excuse to buy myself another set of jewellery by Maxi Gossamer. I’d seriously love to buy every piece of jewellery at her store. But because of limited funds, I’ll just have to collect them slowly. One set at a time.

Comforting Dreams

As soon as I saw Somnia’s contribution for the Chic2 event, all I could think was: That is sooo cute! The mesh-sweater didn’t fit me perfectly (a bit too busty for me), but I just had to wear it.

First I wore the “comfort in the rain” version. I dug up some wellies and an umbrella, and tp-ed to Rainy Alley to shoot some pictures.

After that, I felt all cold and wet. So I changed into the “comforting rainbows” version, put on my comfy kitty socks and cuddled up with a good book.

The outfit contains both the sweater and the leggings. It comes in three different versions: rain, storm and rainbows. And each comes in five colours. Available at Chic2.

Going gaga at the gatcha

Gatcha machines, I think we all love them and loathe them at the same time. I usually manage to stop myself from going completely trigger-happy, unless there’s something cute to be had.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day

… and my attempt at wearing digi boots.

I don’t normally wear digi boots. Which, by the way,  doesn’t mean I don’t own any. Many times I’ve been looking at paw boots, thinking how cute they looked. But after buying them,  they somehow never looked quite as good on my legs. These cute clover-socked boots are the latest example of this. They are cute and well made, but… I guess I’ll just have to accept that digi boots are not my thing.

Anyway, they do fit the St. Patrick’s Day theme is was going for in this post. I might have overdone it a bit actually. But I thought: if it’s worth doing, it’s worth overdoing! So here is it, clovers and all.

Folly

… week 7 of the 52 Weeks of Color Challenge part II.

Apparently Folly is a color one-fourth of the way between crimson and rose, closer to crimson than to rose. In any case, it’s not a color I normally wear. So I went shopping.

After buying the shoes and the shirt (it’s actually a dress), I felt I needed something green to make this outfit a bit less… pink… red? Anyway, I remembered seeing a green pair of pants at Lee. This is a new store that isn’t really open yet, but has a few teasers for sale. After trying it on I CAN say I really like the color and  texturing. But the shape! It’s rigged mesh and the shape is just completely wrong. The legs are extremely skinny and it has a serious case of “horseshoe pelvis”. Now I know there are people out there who like that kind of thing, but it’s not for me. But anyway, I liked the color, so it did wear it. But with a pose that made it look a bit better.
