… the Halloween-look I didn’t think I would be making.

I’m not a huge fan of Halloween. I didn’t grow up with it and basically I just don’t get it. Even after witnessing the Halloween madness in Second Life for a couple of years. So I wasn’t really planning on blogging any of the many freebies available right now.

Until I received a notecard from How Vexing, that is. After that I ran to the store and blogged their Halloween gift as soon as I could. What is their gift? A blood spattered version of their neko tail! Those tails are, in my humble opinion, the most realistic ones in Second Life. I just adore them. So if you don’t know these tails yet, this is the perfect chance to try one out.

Some practical info: the store is called Lemon Tea instead of How Vexing, and they seem to be in the middle of a rebranding themselves. The vendor itself can be found in the back of the shop, on the righthand side.

…week 52 of Luna Jubilee’s 52 Weeks of Color Challenge.

Week 52… it seemed so far away when I started this challenge a year ago.

When I started I was quite sure I would be finishing it (I can be stubborn that way). But I definitely didn’t expect to be blogging this last week. But I am, and it was absolutely this challenge, and the entire blogosphere it introduced me to, that can be blamed for that. Ofcourse that’s not all the color challenge means to me, but I need to leave something to babble about next week, right? Besides, I don’t want to get too emotional here. The challenge and it’s camaraderie was far too much fun to be writing this post in tears!

So what to say about this week’s look. Well, a friend of mine turned up in this outrageously cute Halloween outfit last week. I thought it looked great on her, but I couldn’t imagine myself wearing any of it. That was, until she turned around and revealed this black kitten dangling from the rim of her hat. It was part of the outfit, but I didn’t care. I knew I had to have that hat!

Paired with the traditional bits and pieces out of my inventory, this completes my last look for this challenge.

…week 51 of Luna Jubilee’s 52 Weeks of Color Challenge.

 

Week 51… the end of this challenge is almost here. But I will not go all sappy untill the very last post. Promise. So anyway, this week’s color was cream. My look didn’t turn out as creamy as I had liked, but I just couldn’t find the right color. So my cream is kind of beige… oh well.

It was only when I started writing this post, that I realized I could have done something more creative with this. Afterall cats are known to love cream. But then again, if you actually give a cat too much cream, it gets diarrhea. So yeah… I’ll just stick with this picture. AND I’ll stop babbling, that too.

Love At First Bite

… the KittyCatS! Haunted Collection 2011 is here!

Rumours about the special halloween-themed collection cats, had been flying about for some time. But I hadn’t really paid too much attention to it. “I don’t need halloween cats” and “I’ll go see them when they’ve been out for a while”, that’s what I thought.

But then, today, I read the notecard with the pictures and all the info… and I practically ran too the KittyCatS! mainstore. There are 3 styles to choose from, but I prefered “Love At First Bite”. Mainly because these are sold as a couple, where the other 2 (SkeleCatS and Devil Dolls) are sold gacha-style. But they all have the option for you to ride on a broom with them, how cool is that?

These are my little vampire-cats, which I named Dante and Beatrice. Aren’t they cute? I’ll need to buy them a couple of little coffins now…

Autumn

…week 9 of the SL Weekly Words Challenge.

I actually made a picture earlier that was perfect for autumn. A picture taken in my favorite quiet place in SL, that changes along with the seasons. But I already used it in another post. And taking a picture of the same place from another angle seemed a bit lame.

So this is the second thing that the word autumn made me think of: a cozy evening in front of a fireplace. I don’t have such a fancy fireplace in RL, unfortunately, but I do have a little woodburner that is just as cozy.

This fireplace from LISP Bazaar is just perfect, and it’s part of The Seasons Hunt, so it’s free, yay! Just look for the pumpkin.

… week 7 of the Alphabet Challenge.

And G is for gorgeous. Which is the perfect word for this dress in my opinion. It’s not really the kind of thing I usually wear while wandering the grid. But I have to admit I was still wearing this outfit loooong after I took the pictures for this post. Gardening while wearing a gown? A perfectly normal thing to do, right?

And yes, this post is a week late. That’s because I had some computer problems this week. Basically I tripped over the electrical cord while my computer was starting up and I pulled the plug right out of the electric socket. End result: my computer suddenly couldn’t find half of it’s hardware components. *facepalm* So I ended up doing a complete re-install.

I have to say, my computer runs really fast now… you know… with nothing on it… *sigh*

Frick is back!

… Fricka Morgath has re-opened {Frick}.

I was quite sad when this skin store closed it’s doors back in March. So when I heared this news I jumped with joy! No promises made about being back to stay but, with new Frick-skins to get my hands on, I can live with that.

The items on sale are mostly new, together with some returning old items like the seasonal skyboxes and the creepy skins. There is also a halloween dollarbie hunt going on, where you can find 5 skins and 2 outfits. So if you a still looking for a halloween outfit, this is your chance.

My favorite of the new items by far though is the new Alice skin, which I’m wearing here in the Blush tone (azure alice – blush – Dk Brows – Freckles, to be precise). A very nice natural looking skin, that I’m sure I will be wearing a lot. There are 4 make-up versions available. And at just L299 for the fat-pack, I obviously bought all of them!

This week I decided to go for a completely different look. While doing my traditional dig through the inventory, I re-discovered this Cheshire Cat – set by Panda Express. And as it was the right color, I am now a Cheshire Neko. Smile!

A quiet place

I’m not much of an explorer in Second Life. I spend most of my time either in my “photo studio” (a big white box in the sky) or on my personal little piece of mainland that I share with my favorite KittyCatS. Usually while I do some work on another screen. Like writing this post. The rest of my time is spend in my gardening store or in various shops.

But every once in a while, I tp to my favorite quiet place on the grid. And that is Neko no Jinja: a Neko Shinto shrine surrounded by the Neko Teien (Cat Garden) and Neko forest. Now there is a lot of neko in that sentence, but this place is by no means for nekos only. It is not filled with litterboxes and balls of yarn. It is actually a very pretty landscape with a feline twist to it. You will have to go and explore to see it for yourself.

I don’t have much experience with SL landscape photography, so I hope this picture does the place justice.
